If any of you remember the show, $25,000 Pyramid and others like it, I need some help with something that I'm wanting to do with my classroom tomorrow. I need categories from the show... I've looked online and found very few. The categories for that show were things like, "Things a dentist would say," and "U.S. Presidents," and "Places you go on a first date," and stuff like that.

I need more. More, more, more. If anybody can help me out at all, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that I teach high school kids, so try to keep the topics appropriate if at all possible. If not, then I hope that your kid has a teacher like me someday... Yeah, I'll wish that upon you. Take THAT! :D

Maybe this work will save him from another of those 10-12 hour days I'm always hearing about.

Heh, Pyramid. The best ones were with Shatner and Nimoy as the guests. :D
Are we talking about the main game or the bonus round?

The main game had categories like: fictional characters, oral hygiene products, popular vacation spots, 1950s movie stars, stuff like that. One person would get the answers and have to give clues to the other partner to get them to guess the answer. 7 answers per team per round.

The bonus round was more along the lines of what you are talking about. One partner sits facing the other, so that only one of them can see the game board. The partner that can see the categories is supposed to reel off a list of possible answers to each question so that the othe partner guesses the category and they move up the board that way.

Most of the categories would work for either stage of the game, but the ones for the bonus round were a little more specific. Try these:

1990s movies
Disney characters
Female pop stars
Magazines a teen girl would read
Audio file formats
Internet search engines
Things you learn in biology class
Shakespeare plays
Things Britney Spears would say
Things that happen when you get bad grades
Things that are not allowed in school
Parts of the yearbook
Things that happen at a football game
Cafeteria food
Why you get sent to the principal's office
popular Halloween costumes
Reasons you get out of school

I've been trying to think of some more "academic" subjects, but I'm not sure what public school kids are required to read and stuff these days.

Ways that Mr. Skull is similar to Mr. Hat

We're both bad*sses... Also, Mr. Hat spends a large percentage of his time being fisted, but we don't really have that "in common" per se, so much as it's an occasional thing for me; far from a similarity.

Uh...

Boomer?

Oh, and SBSB... I don't use "lines." I don't need "lines." Lines don't work anyway... Picking up girls is situational. If you know what you're doing, and you're comfortable with the guy (or lesbian) that you are, then picking up girls is as easy as talking to them. Nobody's over anybody else's head... Guys choose to handicap themselves more than any girls do by initiating contact with them already being in the inferior role... Either that or they act TOO aloof and the girl passes THAT attitude off as arrogance. Arrogance = Bad. Confidence = Good. Girls = Easy. I suck at math, but I have (had) that equation down pat.
