Where would I have to go if I wanted to purchase some bars of gold? I'm guessing I can't get them off amazon.

Ebay...no really, you can buy gold and silver on Ebay. Is that the best place to buy it...prolly not. I've bought some gold and silver coins on there before and sometimes you can get a good deal, other times it seems that the people you end up bidding against have more money then sense.

...bought a $ 50 Gold Buffalo (one ounce) last year for $ 720, gold is now what $840 an ounce? :D

Are you assuming royalfan that with the shakey US dollar and stock market that gold will be going ever higher?

diversification isn't a bad idea.

I'm in total agreement, and that's why last year I started buying a little gold and silver. Something about having real genuine precious metal in your hand.

Um...you got the money? I got some gold bars at, at my house, that's it. Just bring your money, and, um, don't let anyone know where you're going...uh, that's the ticket.

You could just buy up a bunch of gold and then melt and mold it yourself.

I'll do that, once my home foundry set shows up.

I wonder how much that would weigh?

You'd probably need a good dolly to move it around.

You can purchase gold through here:

https://online.kitco.com/

Also, there are several Mutual Funds and ETF's that deal specifically with gold, mining, and precious metals.
