View Full Version : I know some really smart people

This guy I know just inherited 4.5 million dollars. He bought a Lamborghini. I heard he spent $500,000 on it.

He then takes it to Chickasha 2-Way to get either the windows tinted or some stereo work done. I personally wouldn't take a 78 Gremlin to that place to get any work done.

If you spend that much money on a vehicle why not let the dealership tint the windows? Why take a half-million dollar car to a business worth $40,000 to have work done?

Anyhoo the money that his grandparents had been saving will soon all be back out in circulation.

we were buddies back in the day but he found that he really liked the crystal meth. Don't know if he's clean or still a crank head.

Good call spending 1/9th of your net worth on an automobile.

Not saying it was a great idea, but what does the average person spend?

And by average person I don't mean the usual SO millionaires.

Average people are completely retarded when it comes to auto purchasing. At least this guy paid cash. I can count the number of people I know who buy their vehicles with cash on one hand and have fingers left...and I have to include myself.

I don't think that's much of a problem if your remaining net worth is $4 million. :texan:

I think the point is that his remaining net worth won't be $4 million for long. That and things like the meth twist are precisely why rich folk invented trust funds. Too bad for him (in the long run) that his grandparents weren't that smart.

I wish my grandparents were that stupid (and rich).

I don't think most dealerships will tint windows any longer. Most states have laws against tinting windows beyond a certain point, so most dealerships won't do it. You can still find private shops that will do it (because it's not illegal to DO it) and the cops'll just give you a fix-it ticket if they decide to pull you over.

Found this all out when I was looking at tinting the windows on my new car. Decided it wasn't worth the hassle, even though you'll almost never get ticketed for illegal tint.

But yeah, if I WERE going to get my windows tinted, I'd probably do it somewhere reputable. And if I had that much money and wanted to customize my 500k vehicle, I'd probably hire someone pretty damn good.

Do you get a discount on window tinting in Alaska since there's only 6 months a year when the sun comes up?

If I had 4.5 mill in the bank and my prospects of ever earning another meaningful wage were slim to none, I wouldn't be spending over a tenth of it on a car.

I'd spend half.:texan:

Heh. Yeah, I have a feeling that if I had 4.5 million in the bank, I'd never give one crap about what people thought I did with my $500k car. :D

I mean, jeez, people. You realize that's F-You Money, right? You put that in Gub'mint bonds and live off the interest tax-free for the rest of your life if you can lock in at a decent yield.

There isn't a 500 grand car that I would own. I'd be happy upgrading from an F150 to an F250, call it good and still have over 4.4 million left.

I bet he invested right after he bought that car, tinted the windows and bought the three 8 balls of meth for driving around the chickas.

I disagree.

A mint condition, factory original 1970 Boss 429 with nearly zero miles would TOTALLY be worth it. AND it's an investment.

To be fair, he and I both know the difference between a Ferrari and a Lamborghini.
