ND/Navy is in OT right now, but the "offensive genius" could have won the game by kicking a field goal in regulation with less than a minute left.

Instead he went for it on 4th and long.

Say what you will about Weis, but it is obvious the offense in New England misses him. I mean, Tom Brady actually has a few incompletions each week to go along with his four or five touchdown passes. Weis could fix that!

I still think the stupidest coach I saw yesterday was a homegrown product up there in Stoollwater takin' it like a man. At least that winning field goal was 40 yds. OSUx born and bred to be losers and they at least provided good entertainment to to beat TX. all day but still display their all natural loser greatness, I mean I think Mack actually out smarted Gumby in the DA bowl.

I never heard an explanation on that ; it was only about 42 yards, but i guess they don't have a kicker that can kick it that far. :D

I assume he was worried that Navy would get lucky and make a play downfield for a TD in the final minute if ND settled for a FG.

Say what you want about Weiss (that call not to go for the FG was stupid) but he did show a lot of class after the game by him and his entire team paying respect to a service school by standing at attention for Navy's school song.

I'm sure it was easier to swallow the previous few years after they had just beaten them. CW looked like he was in no mood for patriotism during the song yesterday.
