58-16. OU's #'s would be higher, but the aggie's offense will eat up some clock. If there was ever a game that Stoops would want to run up the score a little (with Fran talking a little smack in the pre-season as well as the need to impress some voters), this is it. If the aggie run game isn't going well (and that's within the context that the usual for them is average at best), it could be another 77-0 type game.

OU has not done well covering the spread this year. The spread v. A&M is 21 points. The Ag's have good talent with a bad coach. OU 27, A&M 10.

I agree with the bad coach part...but there's not a lot of talent there...beyond perhaps Martellus Bennett and Goodson.

I hope you are wrong. That has happened exactly 4 times this year for aTm: ULM, Baylor, O-State, and KU. They also rushed for over 300 yards in 2 of those games. They won all but the last one (and nearly won that one). :eek:


Of course, every single time that happened was in the giant concrete dog house. :D

A Reader from College Station, TX

This book is a complete waste of time. It makes you wonder how many football games this guy has actually watched. I know one game he did not watch this past weekend. Sooners vs. A&M. Mr. ****** called the 77-0 Sooners win a classless act and accused Coach Stoops of running up the score. Any sportswriter who watched the second half of that game would realize that Coach Stoops ran off tackle practically every single play in the second half except for 3 pass plays early. Virtually every offensive starter was sat out of the second half and virtually every defensive starter sat out of the 4th quarter. With 8 minutes left in the game and the Sooners inside the 5 yard line, Stoops had his 2nd string QB take a knee. After a glaring look from Coach Fran on the other sideline, Coach Stoops decided it was better to run 3 more half speed handoffs to the half back that were guaranteed of being tackled in the backfield. Not only was he not wanting to score but, he was trying to find a way for it to be less embarassing to A&M than taking a knee. Anyway this typical lack of research that ****** shows in his daily reporting apparently also carries over to his writing.



The most interesting part of this to me was that the author of this review is from College Station, TX.

The nut squeezer's coach is in a bind. He needs good wins to keep his job.

Plus, they have this running back, maybe you've heard, he's 500 pounds of lean, mean eating machine...I mean running machine.

And their QB has chutzpa! He doesn't back down from anyone. Too bad he can't pass the ball. But that won't matter.

Have I mentioned that ol' Franny is up against it? He's known for a trick play or two, isn't he? Unlike our underachieving coaching staff, he'll be using trick plays on every down. Like football is supposed to be played.

Our defense is great against the run, and aTm primarily runs the ball, but somehow our pass defense will suck again and the fans will bitch and moan about it for weeks.

I hate to say it, but the nad smashers get their revenge for 77-0:

I still say we'll be going for some style points. Stoops knows what we need to do to gain those little bits and he'll pull out all the stops against what is, on paper at least, one of our tougher opponents.
