as of now my top 5 would be......

1. Mark Mangino (best KU season in modern era; best season since 1995)

2. Mike Bellotti (may be best team in country, better than 2001 team)

3. Dennis Erickson (2 titles for him already; ASU's best season since 1996)

4. Randy Edsall (under the radar but has some amazing wins already; 1st in Big East)

5. Lloyd Carr (just because of not giving up after 0-2 start and considering job is on the line)

Others to consider= Jeff Jagodzinski, Ron Zook, Gary Pinkel, June Jones, Rich Rodriguez, Al Groh

Bob Stoops may be in the picture if OU wins out and somehow OU gets to the national title game but there have been many coaches that have just been outstanding all around. It will be a tough choice indeed.

If the Fighting Mangino's finsih atop the North, it's Mangino as "Coach of the Year."

Agree. The biggest man in the league should be the Coach of the Year if the Jayhawks continue to win.
