Ohio State shows why they # 1 right now

Neither of these teams have played anybody with a pulse. This really doesn't prove anything other than the fact that in a down year for the Big 10, Ohio State is the conference favorite. That isn't exactly newsworthy if you ask me.

I'm now hoping that Laurinaitis has a severe 24 hr flu when they play Wisconsin and the Badger's running game just takes over.

Yep. I'm already getting sick of them talking this game up like beating a very nearly unranked PSU team is some sort of crowning accomplishment. Please. If beating #25 is your signature win, it's hard to make a convincing case for being #1.

One of the ohio st players said "we're #1 and everyone knows it" or something like that. Isn't it refreshing to see such humble players?

It's clear noone respects tOSU and their ranking is a result of attrition of other teams playing decent competition. I saw nothing tonight that made me think they were any better than last year's team, and we all know what happened against UF.

The thing that gets me is OU got NO HELP from anyone this weekend!! It seems like everyone up until now got some help when they had a bye week. When a team with one lose or no loses didn't play 2 or 3 teams lost and they moved up in the rankings. As soon as OU gets their bye week everyone decides to win this week. Odd and fustrating as hell!!

The atmosphere sure was cool for it to be such a sucky game. The fans must be so thrilled that they organized a huge white-out, had pom-poms and cheered their asses off for a team that went out and laid an egg.

How bad can the Penn State DB's be to make Ohio State white boys look so fast?

OSU plays in an overrated conference but you can't argue the fact that they win and take care of there business when and where they're supposed too.

True. But still sad that a mediocre conference and schedule get rewarded. I guess we have received similar benefits in the past.

I just don't see OhSU losing, but the #2 could change in the next 4 weeks.

FWIW: If Oregon and BC both run the table, I would go with Oregon, based on a much tougher conference schedule.

BC is the luckiest team in college football right now. If Beamer runs the ball instead of passsing the damn thing on there last possession, BC loses. Mangino almost did the same thing last nite against A&M.

BC will lose, the question is when.

I still think that SC can beat ASU and I think that Oregon could still lose to ASU.

Should be a fun couple of weeks and yes, it is sad that OSU plays in a crap conference but that's how it goes sometimes.

I think both Wisconsin and Michigan have a chance to beat Ohio State. I also think at this point, BC is more deserving of the nat'l title spot, should both win out, than Ohio State. They are playing in a lousy conference and they are just asking to be embarrassed on national television should they go to the title game and play either a SEC or a Big 12 team.

On a positive note, did anyone else notice that the Pontiac Game Changing Moment is now Stanford's 4th and goal over USC? I LOVE watching other teams on the receiving end of that. The Statue of Liberty can just go to hell or sink into the Atlantic Ocean. :D
