V sucked as far as acting and directing were concerned...but the plot of the religious con man hit really close to home at the time it was released.
As far as the odd numbers vs even numbers thing...I agree with the exception of Generations.
p.s. Am I the only one who laughs where, in Star Trek I, McCoy beams on board wearing a ****load of 70's style Mr. T medallions?

i haven't seen The Motion Picture in forever
II is hands down the best one though

II was my favorite, followed by VI.
Generations was ok, mostly becasue of Malcolm McDowell.
