I bet the cartoonist is at least a sergeant in the "United Federation of Tin Foil Hat Wearers"

either that, or he's one of those "No Blood for Oil" boobaloozas who think access to oil, which is as necessary to our society as oxygen, is somehow not worth spilling blood over.

SSC, you just made my day! Hoo-aaah!
In honor of you, tomorrow I won't tease any of the doctors with my usual "were you in the military or were you in the Air Force?" bit. ;)

watch it bub.

More Air Corps aircrew died in WWII than Army infantrymen. You can look it up. In fact, there were 407,300 US military deaths in WWII among all services combined. US Army Air Corps deaths totalled 120,000. That's over a fourth of all US GI's lost in WWII.

Therefore, have a big steaming cup of shut-up juice and knock that stuff off.

Air Corps, back in the Great War. I flew Sopwith Camels against Manfred Von Richthofen. I shot his arse down with a SAM missle, but some hillbilly groundpounder from Australia thinks he got him with an Enfield.

Well, God bless ya, Okla-homey. I'm a SAC brat. My dad was a tail gunner on B52s. "Peace is Our Profession". SAC was THE squared-away arm of the USAF. Today's Air Force isn't what it used to be, but...God bless our Zoomies. We couldn't do without 'em.

Back on topic: that cartoon is bad enough, but believe it or not, I've seen worse.

Enough to make Gundy actually puke about something real. Try that **** in a country less free, ****forbrains. You'd be eating your **lls as your last meal, you worthless bag.

And he gets PAID for it, imagine that.

Admiration for our various service branches aside, once again Tuba has managed to take one single, solitary cartoon by one single, solitary cartoonist and managed to slip the insidious plural onto each of them. 'Cause unless you're Muslim whack-jobs, it's hard to get too fired up about one lone cartoon; but if you think there's more of them, then it's pitchforks and torches time.

Kudos, Tuba. Once again, no moehill has been left un-mountained by your steady course of rabble-rousing.

Easy there, Chopper. Dincha see the winky? It's good natured ribbing between me and a couple of my USAF(R) colleagues and I'm just taking the one day off from it for SSC. I'll still make some silly jokes about not passing the USMC physical (head wouldn't fit in the jar and all that) and some ridiculous comments about the funny names the USN uses for their ranks. I am surprised by the stats you listed though, I would never have guessed that.

I have nothing but respect for my comrades from other branches. That won't keep me from cracking lame jokes with them and givin' y'all hell about going to "the field" in 4-star hotels. Just not tomorrow.

I look at cartoons like this exactly how I look at cartoons anywhere. They're ****ing cartoons. Stupid, silly, ridiculous, absurd, over-the-top silliness people read for entertainment.

That being said, I have a pretty good idea this cartoonist cut his teeth on the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers back in the day.

You know what's great about this post? Your use of italics to try and emphasize your point only ends up making the fact that you couldn't recognize a 'personal attack' if it walked up to you, tapped you on the shoulder, and said "Hello, good sir. I'm a personal attack. Can you show me where the nearest haberdashery is?" even richer.

Oh, wait, I'm sorry. Even richer.

Sometimes, this is so easy it doesn't even qualify as an "interest", much less a "hobby"...

This is easy. At least most of us don't scurry off to some remote corner of SF to spout off and mentally masturbate themselves.
