You don't downgrade a coach who is doing everything right!

And according to "himself", (because who else could be a valid, objective assessor of his job performance),

"I have done an excellent job in all areas."

Kood-Aid must be similar to farts in that everybody enjoys their own personal flavor.

I don’t acknowledge that book at all. All I would tell you is ... I’ve done an excellent job in every area. It’s hard for the media to know, but what we’ve done off the field, and what we’ve done on the field. I think it’s well-documented.

Someone really needs to out whoever is dealing him the wacky weed...

Is Callahan now coaching UT?

I think that is a little odd that for the last two weeks he hasn't worn any husker gear to his own press conference. What type of message is he trying to send? Because all of a sudden not wearing your team's gear, when you used to wear it, does send a message.

Last week he wore a brown pullover. Reminds me of how in the olden days the British Navy wore all red on the firing decks to camouflage the blood. Captain Callahan needs to be wearing brown pants.

I was wondering if that was a 1978 Press Conference he was at. Cool Shirt!

Me too. Did he buy that in the last 25 years?

Well he knows he's about to take a huge paycut (unemployed), so he prolly got that shirt at the local Goodwill.

The Huskers have lost their last three games by a combined 88 points, giving up an average of 40.6 in each of those games.

Husker math...lol.

Please.

Their dumb@$$ AD made sure that even when Schnellehan gets fired, he will be making plenty of bread for a long long time.

He's like that little dog trapped in a corner by a bigger dog. Lashing out without any hope of success... He's always been perceived as a prick, but this is reaching a new level. Essentially, he's saying "Yeah, we suck, but it's not coaching, it's these crappy players I was left with. Sure, I have some good ones, but there were so many bad ones when I got here it's a miracle that we even won. I know I won last year with only two years of my recruits, but that doesn't matter."

He's thrown everybody but himself under the bus right there all at once. It's not me it's the players. It's not me it's the previous coach's terrible recruiting. It's not me it's the fans. *******.

And what does he know about a "hard recruiting staff"? He was a tight ends coach at Illinois, and an OLine coach at freaking Wisconsin.

Let me answer that for Space Cowboy Purify:

Husker math...lol.

Uh, okay, I'm no math whiz, but I don't think this is Husker math.

The margin of losing is a combined 88 points in three games.

The defense has given up nearly 41 points average in those three games.

Maybe it just wasn't clear, the way it was worded.

They lost 36-14, 45-14, 41-6. Margin of victory is 22 + 31 + 35 = 88

Points surrended: 45 + 41 + 36 = 122 divided by 3 games = 40.6 points average

I think Nebraska may ask to be annexed by Kansas so they'll have a successful football team ...uh, make that team period.
There are two very successful football teams in Nebraska. Nebraska-Omaha and Chadron State are top 5 in D-II, and Chadron features the NCAA career record holder for all divisions in rushing yards.

Though this was also interesting from the article"

"(Callahan) said a few of his recruits have de-committed due to the instability in the program.

One of them is Jonas Gray, the gifted running back from suburban Detroit.

Because of Nebraska’s unstable coaching situation, he’s now taking looks at Notre Dame, Michigan and LSU. He said he doesn’t rule out Nebraska."

So, instead of Nebraska, he's checking out ND and Michigan, two of the hottest coaching seats in America, along with LSU, where the head coach is the most likely candidate to go to Michigan if Carr's seat goes from 450 to broil? Sounds like another "Academic All-American." :D

In fact, Nebraska may have the most stable coaching situation of all of those schools, since it's known that they will have a new coach next season, instead of a coaching change maybe happening in the next four years.

I heard on the radio the other day that if he gets fired, he'll make $62,000 a month into the year 2010.

If I were making that kind of dough in the unemployment line I'd perform my job poorly so I would get fired too.
