I think Savage is the best back in the Big 12...we havent seen enough of D.Murray, Patrick cant stop fumbling, Temple cant get healthy, Goodson doesnt get enough carries to see how good he really is so who else would it be???

Savage sat out two games (Florida Atlantic and Troy) and STILL leads the Big XII in rushing.

I'd say that's pretty darn good.

He will get shutdown by OU's great run defense.

And Texas and Kansas IMO. His production will drop sharply over the last four games. OSU and A&M have backloaded schedules. Their current records do not reflect their respective bowl destinations: Ft. Worth and Shreveport.

Very true . . . we have three RBs that have the potential to do for OU what Savage does for OSU, but there's only so many balls to go around.

I think we have the best running game in the league, but there is a good argument for Savage as the best individual RB. Their line isn't very good and he still gets his yards. He's slippery, strong and hard to grasp. Not all that fast, but fast enough. He's a perfect back for the spread and he'll get chances to make people miss.

Dunno if he's the overall athlete Murray is, and it's hardly a lock just yet that he's the best RB in the league, since there is much football left to play and OSU's toughest B12 games are ahead of them.

? He missed Florida atlantic and he missed Troy. With two games less and two "intramurals" teams he didnt get to play against he still leads the big 12. Talk about cupcake. On here all i've been reading about is how yall screwed up by playing weak teams and how its gonna bite you on the *** in the bcs!

I believe that savage is the best in the Big 12 right now, but that also has a lot to do with the overall offense. We've been VERY run happy recently and haven't had a ton of passing. In the game with KSU we couldn't get the passing going and we had to rely on the run.

Fact is, KSU's defense is good. Going into the game with OSU they were only allowing 3.1 yards a carry and 112.5 yards per game. We had 329 yards on 5.6 yards a carry. Frankly, I was surprised we were able to run on KSU's D like we were. However, it does make me think our Offense can run on almost anybody (not saying we won't have problems with it, playing in norman will be very tough). Also, you can't say that it's all savage. Here's our three top rushers from the big 12 rankings. even Robinson is 16th in the league. Hunter is 6th and he is a beast. He's a true freshman and may even be better than savage IMHO.

1. Dantrell Savage, Oklahoma St 124 746
6. Kendall Hunter, Oklahoma St 76 573
16. Zac Robinson, Oklahoma St 68 415

Finally, here's how I see it playing out for OSU. Though I think we can run on anybody, that doesn't mean we will win or are better than other team. I was at the KSU game and frankly, the better team didn't win. KSU is really good and we won because of turnovers and special teams.

OSU's D showed it still needs help. KSU (a team that doesn't pass a lot) passed for over 400 yards on us. We need a better D if we are actually going to challenge for the south this year. Though our schedule plays out favorably till Norman, it's still a VERY tall order.

I see us winning one of the next two (UT and KU) with the other one being a close loss. Then going to Baylor and beating up on them, and finally playing OU for the South title in Norman (as UT, A&M, and Tech will all have 3 big12 losses at that point IMHO). In that game, we'll probably get our butts handed to us by a couple TDs. We'll then finish off the year by probably going to the Alamo Bowl.

Im not trying to start any arguments im just defending Savage. I also think Hunter is also great athlete. These guys dont have the speed like Patrick. But they have great balance and stay on there feet have contact.

Too many pairs of Crimson shades in here, the guy missed two games against sh*tty teams and is still leading the league in rushing...He is better than Patrick IMO, though not by much...and is the best INDIVIDUAL in the league!
