A buddy of mine discussed our scheduling a few weeks ago. This year's out of conference games included North Texas and Utah State.

The gist of our discussion is that it doesn't really do us any good to play many uber-crappy teams in one season. It's bad enough that we're forced to play Baylor every year. But throwing in UNT and USU on top of it...that's 1/4th of our schedule taken up with absolute crap.

We have only ourselves...or our crappy schedulers to blame. Beating the ever-living crap out of North Texas and Utah State proves nothing other than they suck and will always suck. It kills us in this dadgum BCS thing.

not that unt or utah state are tradition powers, but when these things are aranges 4-5 years in advance, it's hard to forsee how crappy a team might be.

didn't unt win the sun belt a few years ago??

When we scheduled North Texas, they had won the Sunbelt 4 years in a row.

If we stay focused against CU and win that game like we should have 34 - 14 or so and we show up and **** kick Iowa State 42 - 7 or so, we're not having this discussion. Period.

Yep. OOC isn't the problem. It's the loss.

It's like saying, "This god damned boat doesn't have enough life boats on it!" when you should be saying, "Maybe we shouldn't hit that iceberg".

But beating Akron, Youngstown State, Kent State and nary a ranked team makes you number one in the country?

Edit: see JM's post.

Why are there 2 threads with the exact same subject matter?
