Count me as one of "those" guys that thinks pre-season rankings are STUPID! If it weren't for the pre-season rankings, S. Florida would never have been in the top 5, BC and Ohio State wouldn't be sitting at the top of the polls, and some of the so-called "upsets" wouldn't be such an upset (Kentucky is good, but c'mon they're not top 5 good).

Other than the Michigan/App State game and the USC/Stanford game, things have really been pretty normal.

I ahve to agree. Though I do think there have been a large number of upsets.

if anything, this season is the best argument for a playoff. the so-called argument that "the BCS is a playoff every week" is taking a big legitimacy hit this year.

telling quotes, contrary to the notion of sports and competition, are when the first BCS rankings you have players and coaches saying "it's out of our control".....that's the opposite of the way it should be.

teams should be saying, we buckle down and win the rest of our games.....we control our destiny. that's what a playoff gives you.
