We were walking in a pasture early this morning at sunrise and my lady found this in the middle of a field. It was very sticky and had a gluey substance all over it like it had been slimed in Ghostbusters.

Any of you other hillbillies seen one of these on the back forty? It's called a slimy salamander over in South Cackalakee

It looks like this guy was a long way from his normal stomping grounds. We found him in North OKC near Deer Creek. This map shows where they normally are found.

I don't believe this species is poisonous at all. Trying to pick one up is like grabbing a slug. I do have these strange warts popping up on my palms now though :eek:

One of the craziest things I have seen while chasing were thousands of tiger salamanders (they look similar to these guys) crossing the wet road between wetlands in rural North Dakota. From the car they looked like giant leeches :O The sucker below tried to whip me with his tail even though I didn't run him over.
