Can you really have a true redshirt freshman? That just seems odd.

I seem to recall a guy from Carson, California who took over for an injured QB and won the MNC as a freshman, I can't recall if he was a true or redshirt freshman. The injured QB ended up transferring to a California team.....

Exchange the word true with real.

How about Jamelle Holloway?

Jamelle was a true freshman. If we need to explain who Jamelle Holieway was, you are probably on the wrong board.

I wonder if any team has ever won a MNC or NC with a left handed QB?

In '83, Kosar became the first freshman to win it.

In '85, Holieway became (and remains) the only true freshman to win it.

And if I'm not forgetting something....

The closest since then was Vick in '99. And not even many soph's have achieved it: Walsh won it in '87.....Leinart split it in '03....and Frazier came this close in '93.

So....the odds are crazy bad. But '07 is completely insane...so, hey, why not?

Sam is on pace to have better stats than any of the above mentioned players in those years.

Has any team ever won the NC with an option offense wearing a shade of red?

QB'ed by a player sporting a man-purse?

With a Tight End whose name was the same as the announceron most of the games that year?

Leroy Lizard

That's ridiculous. Sure, Brent Musberger may have played some tight end in high school, but at OU he was strictly a third-string center. Get your facts straight!

Yeah, I was thinking DAN THOMPSON needs to brush up on his SOONER HISTORY. Does anybody have a spare copy laying around of the SOONER CENTURY to donate to his education fund?
