i say they deserve their spot though...the beat Auburn in Alafrikkinbama. and they beat WV. I know that they aren't "really the 2nd best team in America, but they deserve to be #2.
That actually alludes to what is a long-standing debate in college football--

should the polls represent where a team DESERVES to be ranked?

or should they represent a ranking of the best team on a neutral field?

Indeed, USF has a very good resume'. But I can name 5 teams that would smoke those fools on a neutral field.

But that's why you play the game - Is Auburn better than Florida? Stanford better than USC? Colorado?? It will hopefully all be moot here soon, but at least USF played some decent teams this year, as opposed to Rutgers last year.

That's only a penalty in the "better than thou" conference called the SEC. It's also in place for the Big XII but as you noticed Colorado didn't get fined.

I'm not gonna read this whole thread, but hopefully someone pointed out that Rutgers sucks...and just beat the "#2" team in the country.

How many times did Rutgers try to lose this game?

Grothe will get better with experience, but he can't feel the back side pressure to save his life, and the spike to stop the clock was a mistake you just can't make with 1:11 left.

I would NEVER want OU to play a Thursday night home game. First, it would be INSANE trying to get around on a Thursday. There likely would be like NO tailgating for the game. A LOT of people couldn't get to the game...

Every time he got pis*ed off, he reminded me of Bob Stoops. A lot of the same angry mannerisms as Stoops. But at the end of every time he got mad, he reminded me of Eddie Sutton. That scowl was frightening! :eddie:

Don't know what the likelihood of that happening is. The Fiesta should get a higher pick this year right. I don't remember how it all came down last year but I think that the fiesta had the last pick for an at large team.

SF seems like a decent team but no way #2. I thought Rutgers should have won by more. Their qb must have had and injured hand as they mentioned. At least he better stick to that story. He missed a lot of easy passes, throwing behind receivers, in the dirt, etc. Grothe seemes like a poor mans Chase Daniel. Decent athlete but appeared to hold on to the ball way too long. Either his receivers were doing a bad job of getting open or Rutgers has some all-world cover men. From what I saw last night, I'm not sure they are top 10. It seems there are about 4 or 5 good teams (not great) this year and then everybody else.
