Nebraska Introduces Bo Pelini as Head Coach. Pelini names Mike Stoops Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator.


Wonder if that would get the Big Red faithful excited about the prospect of the return of the Blackshirts?

Remember this thread, we'll see how smart I am here in a few months.

I tend to agree with ya . I mentioned Mike in another thread ! Th AZ folks dont seem to think much of him .:D

Not a chance Mike Stoops takes a coaching job in the Big 12 that isn't with his brother. No way.

I do think Pellini would come back. The bugeaters LOVE that guy. His D schemes got us embarrassed, but apparently it worked in Lincoln.

Before I would have said no way to Pellini going back there. If he kept his beef confined to the AD and not the entire administration, he might go back now that they fired Pedersen.

I'm still saying you're a crackhead on the Mike Stoops idea, though. I think Pellini would be his own D-coordinator. Plus, I doubt Mike Stoops wants to play second fiddle to anyone but Bob. AZ's just a bad situation.

How awesome (and completely unlikely) would it be if NU went after and got Mike, Mike Gumby! It would be the ruin of two programs! Ah, a guy can dream...

At this point if they fired the entire staff and just let the team make it up as they go they'd do better.

I think we loved the fire and intensity he and his players showed more than anything. I don't think there is anything Nebraska fans hate more than a team that doesn't seem like they care. Which is what we have now.

The rumor I heard was that Mangino was going to take over at Nebraska and stay at Kansas. They say he's enough man to handle two programs.

UNC just anounced that they are conducting a search to replace Associte Headcoach John Blake who is expected to return to Lincoln,Nebraska as the sucessor to Bill Callahan following yet another 40 point loss by the Huskers to aTm(this in keeping with Dlorean time-travel theme)46-10.

I talked to a Fusker fan at the pub last night and he was elated. He thinks that they're not gonna win another game this year and they're gonna get Norm Chow.

I just stared at him and agreed with his first point.

I hope that they do get someone good. I'm embarrassed for them.
