I'm going to be in Sayre for the next 3 weeks. I had planned on playing golf every night, but it looks like I'm going to have to work until 5pm every day, so that's not happening.

What else is there to do in the Sayre/Elk City area? Do I just need to bring my PS3?

Theres still enough light right now to get nine in. Other than that I would definatly bring the PS.

my mom was born in Sayre and my maternal g-paw worked for the state ag department in Roger Mills county.

he put 5 kids through college, 2 Sooners, 3 pokes. he planted pecan trees that are big today.

Are you kidding me...it blanks out Wa****a as in Wa****a River? The site of a major Indian battle/massacre.

It was a really sh*tty battle.

It was a really sh*tty battle.

Why, you think unarmed women and children don't fight back very well against cavalry:texan:

You can venture out to Burns Flat, future NASA launch site or something like that.

Meer's is quite a drive from Sayre, but definitely get a steak at nearby Simon's Catch.

I second the Wash-ita Battlefield.

Another good burger would be at the Hamburger Inn in Mangum, south of there. If you head down to Mangum, Quartz Mountain is just a short trek over.

Another suggestion is to visit the Route 66 Museum in Clinton.
