Everyone in Nebraska seems to be calling for Steve Pederson's head. Why do they call him AD?

Because the ninjas are about to assasinate him until his bright hopes turn ebony or some such ringtone as that.

This is someone's sig on Huskerpedia:

"Steve Pederson is going to be known as the greatest athletic director who ever lived." - Boyd Epley

That's awesome.

Huskerpedia looks like what Soonerfans would have been were the innerweb fully operational in 1997.

Anyone know where I can get a No Place Like Nebraska ringtone?

TIA.

He gone.

Great night in Lincoln. The return to respectability will begin soon. Rumor is Tom Osborne is interim AD and several assistants are also gone. Again all rumor at this point, but it appears to have legs and comes from several credible sources.

Wow, they fired their AD? Wow.

For real.

Head on over to huskerpedia or bighuskerfan.com to find info. Lots of insider info on huskersillustrated.com but that requires a premium membership.

I think we'll go after Bo P, who should have been the man from the get go.

The ultimate trust test:

If the football was balanced on top of your coach's head, would you kick the football or the coach's head?
Picture illustration of test-in-action (http://bp1.blogger.com/_lzvoNLf1ZuU/RxJDyfCIWoI/AAAAAAAAADQ/o8VffcsYEvQ/s1600-h/3-stooges-football.jpg)
Also applies for the AD :D If two percent of your team kicks the coach's head, it is time to fire them, because they are either poorly coached and cannot kick the FOOTball, or do not believe in the coach.

Absolutely he does. I don't think we ever would have great under him again, but at least our players didn't quit.

The guys on my list are:

Paul Johnson
Bo Pelini
Will Muschamp
Jim Leavitt (I know, longshot)
Greg Schiano (another longshot)
Turner Gill

Any of those guys would be fantastic, IMO.

most Sooner fans have a decent amount of respect for Gill because he was such a good player, so i hope he doesn't take the job. it'd be like throwing him to the wolves. it's gonna be a long road back.

maybe Boo will come back for the right price.

It would be a shorter road than getting Buffalo to the top though. I think there is a decent amount of talent on this Nebraska team in spite of the results, and the right coach could get Nebraska headed back in the right direction in fairly short order.

Huskerpedians are getting themselves worked into a lather with talk of TO coming back on a white horse to be the AD, etc. Really no substantiation of anything yet, however. Looks like someone "heard a rumor" they wanted so badly to be true that they got everyone else believing.

OKC-SLC
10/14/2007, 09:27 PM
Jim Donnan said on ESPN Radio that (prior to yesterday's game) Callenberger would have to win 32 of the next 34 to MATCH the record that Solich had when he was fired.

And they gave him an extension.

tommie15
10/14/2007, 09:31 PM
The rumors have come from insiders on other boards that know what they're talking about.

WE didn't extend him. The doofus who lost his job tonight extended him.

Frank Solich?
I think FRANK that SOLICH should be a new phrase around here, because it's funny ;) It is code for f*** that s***, but Frank that Solich sounds much better and it's safe for work. Waddaya say? Should we Frank that Solich, or start Franking that Solich?

If so, find a clever way to Frank that Solich in your next post here!

A gem:

Before yesterday, Osborne said he had never been invited to talk to a Callahan team. After Nebraska's 45-14 loss to Oklahoma State, Osborne doesn't know if he'll be invited back.

He said, quote, "I must have done a poor job."
Should have invited the Franking Solicher.
