when you finally admitted to yourself that you had a "good" ear?

well, I was about 34 when I admitted I had a "bad" ear.

I think it was a result of a bad virus/high fever I had when I was about 22. But I hated to admit it while I was married. That would mean "he" was right about me not being able to hear well.

I discovered my good ear when the other one went suddenly deaf. Thank you, maternal great-grandmother, for my genetic hearing loss. But now the bad ear is a bionic ear (some kind of piston) and the other ear is shot. Bah.
