After the game against Texas, Chizik received some words of encouragement from Mack Brown, his boss in 2005 and 2006. They won a national championship together in '05.

"He's all about class," Chizik said. "He could have made it a lot worse. He just said, 'Hang in there.'

"He said, 'I love you.'

"I said, 'I love you.'
