Hypothetical Team A plays in the Big 12 north division.

Team A loses all 4 of their non-conference games, entering conf play with an 0-4 record. Team A then loses both of their games against the south division, plus one of their intra-divisional games, winning the remaining 4 north division games and ending the regular season with a 4 - 7 record. By virtue of everyone else in the north losing 2 or more north division games, Team A represents the north division in the conf championship game. Team A wins the CCG and automatically qualifies for a BCS Bowl coming into the game with a 5-7 record.

That'd suck.. unless it happened to the SEC or ACC. ;)

a loss vs a south team counts just like a loss against the north teams.

Okay, so all the other north teams lost all their south games, too. ;)

Wait- since they aren't technically "bowl eligible" since they don't have 6 wins, do they still get the BCS bid?
