NEXT STOP FOR PELINI?
Could Bo Pelini be stalking the sidelines as the head coach of one of these schools next season?

1. TEXAS A&M
2. LSU
3. VIRGINIA
4. ARIZONA
5. BAYLOR

With all the credentials Pelini has, he's not touching Baylor, nor will he go to Virginia or Arizona.

In a Gene Chizik sort of way. Kinda scary.

Wonder if A&M would be interested in Kragthorpe? I bet so. He used to be the offensive coordinator there.

Really doesn't matter to me who's coaching those 2 schools when we beat 'em.

i can't imagine Pellini would want to play Bob every year, but who knows

there are already so many former OU assistants in the Big 12...

Yep...It'll be funny when they are ALL former assistants!

I'd take the A&M job in a heartbeat. It won't be difficult to be popular after following a "stud" like Coach Fran.

He should be the coach at Nebraska. Dude got screwed.

Abother name being thrown around is Auburn HC Tommy Tuberville .... he was a DC for A&M under RC in the mid 90's. The rumor is he still is unhappy about certain things at Auburn and would make the move if A&M called given his former ties.

Jeff Tedford at Cal is also a name that comes up .... apparently he is very unhappy with some things at Cal, esp in terms of facilities, and I;ve heard he has old ties to Bill Byrne from Bill's days in Oregon. Still, with all the slots that could come open, I don;t see any chance of this.

One other name that gets thrown around is Art Briles from UofH.

Nebraska should make a move immediately. If they want to turn the 'pink skirts' back into the 'black shirts', Pellini would diffinetly be their man. I never really understood why he was at OU as 'Co-Defensive Coordinator. Was if just for one year? Was Stoops just doing him a favor while he pursued another job?

bo at a&m could be good. it would be nice to get rid of some of these freaks in our conference and bring some respectability back to the big 12.

I've been wondering lately if we could find a spot for Dan McCarney on our defensive staff? He is kicking *** with South Florida as their defensive line coach. I know he and Bob are friends.

His stock is not rising, the way Louisville has played this year.

If I were Pellini I'd tell NU to shove it if they came uh callin. They should have hired him the 1st time around.

Am I wrong to think that Pellini was less than spectacular while he was here?

i remember a lot of people on these boards thinking like that during the time. i dont lay it at his feet. i think that our team was less than spectacular while he was here.

nebraska had a top ranked defense while he was running it. lsu has a top ranked defense now.

Pellini is a hell of a coach. I think that is more than apparent at this point.

And I am waiting for my email from Fran before I say who the next A&M coach is.

i think it had more to do with a differing philosophy with Venables

Pelini would be a lousy hire at Baylor. His main talent seems to be taking spectacularly talented players, and shaping them into a superb defense over the course of several years. (Since God knows he didn't do jack squat during the season he was *here* as CoDefCo&CoCoach, or whatever the fudge Stoops called him)

And, just for the record, I think he needs another "L" in his name. I always spell it "Pellini", and then have to go back and correct myself. If he would just change his fudging name, I wouldn't *have* this problem.
