KILZ. you can get spray on or roll on.. Takes a couple off applications but i know i was able to hide some water stains with it

Contact a commercial cleaning supplier. They have special dry sponges that remove smoke and residue. After that, if there are still traces, wash the surface with a combination of white vinegar and water. Once it's dry, KILZ does a great job sealing in anything else.

There's gotta be a story in there somewhere. :pop:

KILZ and a new coat of paint, new carpet, and have the ductwork professionally cleaned.

Also, obviously, new air filters.

A kilz type product is what you need. I actually like some other brands better.

Zinsser Cover Stain is better IMO. But most all of them will do the job. Don't use a water based one for smoke damage.

If the pharaohs had duct tape, the sphinx would still have a nose.

Kilz is good stuff, just make sure you follow the instructions. It seems like I remember that if you leave it for too long before repainting, it cures out and paint won't stick to it.

The only problem I've had with kilz is that is shows lap marks from the roller worse than some other products.
