The car isn't very attractive either.

The windows and windshield seem too tiny to be able to have a good view of the road.

This must be marketed toward the "I wanted to be Batman when I was little" demographic.

Looks aside, it's an electric car. The engine doesn't even drive the wheels like it does with a Prius, it's just there to run the generator when the batteries get down to 30 percent charge. Range, 640 miles on a 12 gallon tank of gas. Rumors are the engine will be able to run E85 as well as standard gasoline.

You can also plug it into a standard 120 wall outlet for 6.5 hours and it will go 40 miles without using a drop of gas. Commuting to work without using any fuel? I can deal with that.

Does it have a moonroof so your head can stick out of the car while driving?

zackly what I was thinking. I wonder if it has "shields" and if it can do a "bat turn."

Too small to have secks in.
Which makes it the perfect car for SicEm.

Handcraft, I think it is a very cool car.
By the time you get it paid off, gas will probably be $10 a gal and everyone here will be praising your foresightedness.
I, on the other hand, will be towing my boat with my full size truck to lakes that are much closer.
And smaller, so I can just use my trolling motor.

Advice: Dont drive it near Jerk.

Next year they'll be offering a Tahoe and Impala hybrid. How dare the evil GM empire offer people choices on how much fossil fuel they consume.

Honestly, how does an average-sized person fit in that? I realize I'm a freak, but at 6' 6", I have a difficult time fitting comfortably in a 4-Runner.

I saw a Taurus SUV at the Texas State Fair during Saturday's RRSO.

Ford has also lost all their better ideas.

It looks like every other SUV they've made in the last 20 years to me.

What if you get your electricity from the solar panels on your roof or your wind turbine?

OU4LIFE

does that somehow make it 'not fuel'?

the technology sounds cool

i still haven't heard how much something like this adds to your 'lectric bill

the idea of just using the engine as a generator is cool, i had kinda thought about something like that, although it might be a PITA if the battery is completely dead

you can plug these into the wall too.

i don't know much about trains... do they always run on batteries and just use the diesel engine to charge?

GM makes a fine automobile. It's the only American car I'll buy.

Chrysler/Dodge cars are a collective POS and Ford is the ghey-lover company.

You have a problem with the truth?

It's well known that Ford financially supports gay rights causes. Ergo, I choose not to buy their products.

Handcrafted's comments aside....

I've checked into these and if they come out like they say, I'll probably get one.

On the interior room, it's made to fit from the 5th percentile female size to the 95th percentile male size.

On the price of electricity, it's supposed to be about the equivelent of paying .50 per gallon.

It is supposed to cost less than $30k and carry 4-5 people. The production one won't look as concepty, more like a new Malibu. It should be out in 2009-2010. They're working on getting the battery produced now. If you drive less than 40 miles between charging you basically won't use any gas at all.

I drive close to that one way but can charge at work. I'm very interested.
