View Full Version : Mizzou Tailgate

C&CDean

Yes, there will be a Missouri tailgate.

I will be heading over there today to investigate all the steel poles the owners of the building put up to see if I can still get the RV in. Either way, we're still having a tailgate, the only question right now is can we get the RV in? I'll also be checking on how much these changes will affect our parking situation. We should be able to park all the season pass folks, but I'm not too sure about the people who do it week-to-week. I'll report after I check it all out.

The tailgate is being sponsored by Chesapeake Insurance (Soonerwake) and will start at 1:30. The menu is:

Chicken & Beef Fajitas & all the fixins.
Beans & Rice

Feel free to bring something that goes along with fajitas.

JM,

I'm way, WAY to good to drink that filthy swill anyhow. Share it with NP or GHP or somebody else who is as not worthy as yourself.

Tailgate update:

It's gonna be a major bitch to get the RV in there - and more of a bitch getting it out. I'm gonna have to wait until every damn car is out of the parking area to the west. Also, I won't know for sure how much parking space we're going to lose until I get it backed in and see if we can squeeze some folks around the front end of it.

Anyhow, we're gonna still do the gate regardless. You hillbillies may be ****ing in the bushes - just don't do it in the bushes at the Casa Blanca building.

Bring the bestest salsa you've got. Anybody who can't handle it simply isn't worthy...

Well that's fine. Some of us need to drink 90 wt. beer to feel like a man. Some of us are simply...........men.

I could wear the pink shirt Ross the Intern was wearing at the fair, drink pink flamingos with an umbrella in them, wear pink toe nail polish, get my belly button pierced, and sport hiphuggers with an up-the-crack thong - and still be manlier than the average man.

The best time? Whenever the hell you feel like it. If you really don't care to meet any of these hillbillies then the best time would be very early. And the tailgate never really shuts down. There's always a few people who stay there and watch the game from the tailgate. We typically resume after the games for a while to let traffic clear.

I have had a lot of first-time tailgaters who show up an hour before kickoff and wonder "where did everybody go? I was wanting to meet ........."

My suggestion would be to show up any time after about 2, and hang around till about an hour or so before kickoff. Or stay at the tailgate and watch the game from there.

Just an observation at this point though.

FWIW, I definitely think SEC schools are more tailgate-friendly. For example, at Bama, they make certain dorm residents move their cars to outlying areas on Friday afternoon so fans have places to park and party Friday night and on gameday.

Heck, the entire town of Oxford and campus of Ole Miss smells like bourbon and Chanel No. 5 on gameday because they let fans park pretty much wherever they can fit their vehicle.

Frankly, I wish OU would loosen up a bit on tailgate parkage. Especially for RV's. Seems like they could set aside a couple student parking lots for RV's and it wouldn't hurt nothin'.

Thank you for the hospitality Dean and others. It was a great set-up. It was nice to meet Frankensooner, Jaux and his daughter, Norm, SBSB, Yermom, Racer X, and Brat for a moment. I should have been more sociable and met some more of you hillbillies. Thanks for the beer and Jaux's daughter for the Crown. Look forward to the next one.

Many thanks to soonerboomer93 for stepping up and volunteering to sponsor the upcoming Baylor tailgate. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

Thanks to all the sponsors, parkers, and all the folks who leave a little something in the milk jar. Your donations help tremendously keeping the tailgates going.

Heh. NP and Badger walked up literally 30-seconds after you left. I'm pretty sure they were waiting in the bushes for you to drift.....

Yeah, I called them to find out where they were. I stood around on the sidewalk after "leaving" the tailgate for about 5-10 minutes waiting on them. I'm with you...I think they were looking and waiting on me to leave.

I might have to rethink inviting them over for stew night. That's okay. I know where they live.

I have been to every tailgate this year and it always amazed me how friendly and helpful Dean and his better half are. No matter how busy they are, they always manage to come over and say hi to the wife and I. We really appreciate it as we are "new" tailgaters this year.

I for one always put something in the jar and as much work as it looks like goes into it, not to mention the cost... I challenge everyone to do the same.

She's gonna have to get in line. I think she was the third or fourth person who tripped over that thing.

Of course my defense will be "the ****ing thing is only 10 feet x 10 feet, and ramps down off the back of the RV. You'd either have to be ****ty drunk or blind not to see it." Of course after that I'll blame the owners of the building for installing the parking poles and the stress caused by me backing the RV into that little space made me forget to raise the ramp.
