View Full Version : Made Beds?

How many people make their beds on a daily basis? It seems to be a pretty pointless habit to me, but I suppose some folks see it differently.

My wife makes the bed everyday.

Do I choose "Yes", because my bed does get made, or do i choose "No" because I don't actually make it?

This pole sux.

Yes and I have to lay in it too.

When your house is on the market you have to make the bed everyday.

I make it after I wash the sheets on Sunday.

When there are piles of clothes on teh bed and floor, making the bed really just doesn't make much sense.

The Wife Unit makes her side of the bed. Only.

Sometimes, as a bonus, she'll put my folded laundry on my side of the bed. You know, just so I have something to do before falling asleep.

I rarely make my bed..I just don't see the point. I am going to get right back in it that night and mess it up....right?

I never make it in the mornings just to make it. I make the bed if I am cleaning in general or having company.

NormanPride

Making the bed for me consists of throwing the comforter back over the majority of the bed so it looks kind of okay. And I only do that when I clean.

Of course, when I leave for work, badger is still in bed. :D So it's not my responsibility.

I make the bed every morning. In fact I just got done making it. I don't mind doing it. It only takes a minute and it makes the rest of my room look clean. HskrMan makes the bed maybe once in a blue moon.

And another thing...

wash your sheets at least twice a week.. ESPECIALLY if you don't shower before going to bed!!!

Think of all the junk, dust, dustmites, pollen, mold and general crap you get on your body just by walking around every day! If you don't shower at night before retiring, you're just grinding that filth into your sheets every night.

Oh. and the mattress cover too.. at least once a month!

A little linen spray wouldn't hurt most of you either.

Cleanliness people... CLEANLINESS!

Man, this is a pet peeve of mine.
It has been my observation that most guys just throw themselves on the bed often without sheets and many times just a blanket haphazardly thrown over them.

I can not freakin' stand that.

I make my bed, but I don't make it in the morning. I make my bed at night just before going to sleep. I have to have 2 pillows, a full set of sheets, and at least two blankets (even in the summer) one of which has to be a full comforter. I have to be covered up at all times. I can't sleep without being "tucked in."

The ends have to be securely tucked in at the end. There's nothing I hate more than my feet suddenly poking out the end or my blanket getting pulled too far up. If this happens in the middle of the night then I strip everything off my bed and fix it.

I also can't stand for the sheet to be longer on one side of the bed than it is on the other. They have to be relatively even.

I have most of a bed, I'm just short a mattress, and I haven't had time to go get one for the past four months. It's just not very high on my list of priorities right now.

I truly can not sleep if my bed isn't just the way that I described it above.
I can't get to sleep then I start to get moody and I'm just a bore to be around.

I also can't sleep unless I've had a shower. I take one every night before bed, when I get up in the morning, and many times after I get home from school. 2-3 Showers a day is the norm for me, but I definitely have to have one before going to bed and when getting up in the morning or I can't function.

I used to make mine pretty regularly every day until I got married. Now my wife's attitude of "why bother, no one's gonna see it but us" is starting to rub off on me. Besides she leaves plenty of other crap laying around for me to pick up to worry about the bed.

Yeah I guess in some regards you could say that. I wouldn't say I'm a neat freak, but I do like things to be tidy. My wife could care less. I'm 31 and she's just 24 so I'm hoping she just hasn't quite come out of her college phase yet. Or it could be the fact she was raised in a trailer home in Arkansas by my redneck mother-in-law.

I generally throw the comforter up over the bed in the morning. Occasionally, I will totally make the bed with pillow shams, but not every day.

However, when I go to bed at night, I have to have the sheets/blankets and my 2 pillows just perfect or my bed seems a mess and I can't sleep. Guess I have something in common with Sic'em there.

"In bed" is a relative term. For example, I'll be jumping in the sack tonight literally but not figuratively (unfortunately).

After 25 years of marriage, here's where it stands.

I make the bed. everyday.

I do my own laundry. We have two hampers. That way, I don't ruin no 'spensive girly duds -- as I used too with regularity because I don't "sort" and wash everything at the same time. On warm.

She does the dishwasher. Occasionally I'll unload it...especially if I'm hoping to get lucky. Although when I do unload it, I get b1tched at because I don't put stuff up correctly.

We have this Guatamalan lady who does everything else on Fridays. Because Mrs. Homey works full-time outside the home and it wouldn't be fair to expect her to do all that crap on the weekend...and i ain't doing it neither.

That is all.
