View Full Version : Weather thou goest?

Weather forecast looks like rain Saturday. If it rains, I think that has to help the Sooners, who will most likely be looking to play ball control anyway.

Success against Missouri will come by controlling the ball, keeping Mizzou O off the field and not establishing a rhythm. I think we can stop them but doubt seriously they can stop us.

A wet field should help the team with the running game, IF we can hang onto the ball.

Any local insight on the weather forecast?

game time temp? Approximate? I'm looking for a real October Football game-50 degrees!

If it rains, that is nothing but bad news for Mizzou. Rain will force the game into an old-fashioned slugfest, which the Tigers just won't be able to handle.

NOAA is calling for 20% chance of rain:

Don't believe the hype of the local forecasts.

Anyone remember the Miami game??...That little forecast of 90-100% chance of rain for the whole day...and I ended up with a nice sunburn.

Update:
http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/fitness/wxdetail/USOK0388?dayNum=2&from=weekend

So it looks like it will be windy and warmer than they originally forecasted

Windy could still wreak havoc on a passing team...and without the pass, Chase really doesn't get much chance to run with it.

13 mph out of the South with a 10% chance of rain and temps in the 70's according to clicking on the site right now.

So weather effects on the game will be zero. nada. zilch. In fact, it'll probably be the nicest game conditions all year from the sound of it.

Bob says he isn't conerned with running a ball-control offense but is concerned with running his offense and scoring.Unlike some past years OU has shown no inclination to just run OUt the clock.Sounds like Bob is not changing that outlook.

Sounds like good azz kicking weather for the Sooners. After seeing the importance of a big victory and needing to massage the computer rankings, I say Bob will run the score up if given the opportunity.

I said the same thing when Jack Elway brought his little boy and a couple of Stanford FB players to Norman. Four miserable hours later we cried all the way back to Tulsa. ;)

I think rains help the passing teams. Trying to cover a WR on a slick field is pretty difficult. And rushing is tough when you have no traction. OU lost a lot of games in the rain when it ran the bone.

Well, my opinion is if there's weather...rain, shine, wind, calm, tornado, hurricane, fair, cloudy, sunny, dry, humid...

This was so very true when Elway came to town....receivers knew the routes, but defenders didn't, and found traction hard on the old artificial turf fields reacting to the receivers cuts......BUT today's technology has changed that. The excellent artificial turf fields we now have aren't nearly as slippery as back then. Offenses pretty well continue on with the same game plan rain or shine. I don't know that rain favors either the running or passing game as it once did.

I miss a good old muddy classic.....
