Do cancers often grow this quickly? I was shocked when I read this.

...the tumor was fast growing and had tripled in size within a span of nine days.

This is distressing for someone who's wife has family history of breast cancer.

Not usually. Maybe if it had been a fluid-filled filled cyst, but I wouldn't expect a solid tumor to grow that fast.
Scary stuff, huh?
