I ordered something on-line. After I ordered it, I changed my mind, but it had already shipped. They shipped it USPS Priority Mail.

When it gets here, can i just mark it Return to Sender and use the post office as my free shipping service to get the item back to the seller?

Do I need to catch the guy before he puts it in my mailbox or do i have to spend the hour and a half in line at the post office.

Sincerely,

Hamhock

He's a seer, sage, and soothsayer. So, he pretty well knows everything.

Just write "return to sender" on it and put it back in the mailbox.

I don't know if that's the official way to handle it, but that's what I'd do. They'll take care of it. That's what they do.

my mailman isn't a USPS employee and doesn't drive one of the cool trucks. he is known to not follow "official" rules.

give me your USPS Employee ID # for when he gives me static?

You would finally be at the counter right now if you would have just taken the dang thing in when you first asked. geez!

Your mailman most assuredly is a USPS employee. If he's not driving one of the groovy trucks or wearing the groovy clothes then he is a rural carrier - most likely what is called a Transitional Employee (TE). However, he is still a USPS employee.

My employee ID # is 69yourself.

That's not a number! And, if he could do that, he wouldn't be ordering stuff from the internet.
