Just an answer, but I believe he calls him Sudden Sam because he came out of nowhere to be as good as he has been. By the sixth week of the season, though, it's no surprise anymore and needs to be dropped.

The Joke is famous for this kind of garbage. How many years did Rohde bag on Vijay Singh before every major, with the same "Ugh" joke over and over again, before he finally realized it just wasn't funny anymore.

For some reason, I've always thought of Trammel as a camaro drivin' mullet wearin, softball playin' bad article writin' hack that got his job at the Daily Oklahoman on a bar bet.

I was inspired by TG remindining me in another thread to come up with a NEW nickname for Sam.TG said everybody had a? for OU at QB,so Sam is THE ANSWER.Sam THE ANSWER Bradford.

I remember in the early to mid 90's, Tramel used to completely rip OU apart during the Gibbs era. I hated him for it then. I always took what he said personal. My mistake though. In hindsight, just about everything he ever said about OU back then was factually right on. NOW, he does say some pretty stupid things, but somehow mysteriously, I have come to appreciate his columns... for the most part, anyway.

Trammel's okay, but yea, "sudden" is dumb now.

I don't like "slingin'", either. To borrow a theme, there's only one Slingin' Sam, and there's only one Sam Bradford.
