Yermom, I think that's actually the USA Today Poll. I know Yahoo has it listed as the AP Poll, but if you go to USA Today (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm), and AP (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/fronts/COLLEGEFOOTBALL_25?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME), the poll Yahoo has listed is identical (points and all) to the USA Today poll, and the new AP Poll isn't out yet.

So, Oklahoma has another huge game next week against #11 Missouri. Go Sooners!.

yep... silly Yahoo!

i was trying to figure out how they could possible tie in both polls.. i didn't look close enough

AP has more than 60 pollsters, thus the #1 votes don't match

Yermom...CBS Sports did the samething.

I went on their site and the Coaches poll was listed as the AP poll at first. I came here to post it, and saw the other posts.

Went back to CBS and both polls were exactly the same. Few minutes later it was fixed.

If OU takes care of Mizzou next week, we will trump at least one of the teams in front of us.

I'll take 6th. Do NOT want to be #5.

Michigan, WVU, and Wisconsin have all been #5 and look what happened!! I'll be perfectly happy being #6 until the final poll where we move up to #1. ;)

A lot of volatility in the poll.

I thought SUC should be lower

If OSU runs the table and Cal beats SUC, then there is your BCS game.

USC is too high in both polls but 10 is more right than 7th. They shouldn't be a top 10 team right now.

USC is too high.

Exactly what I (and probably every other Sooner here) is thinking. We lost on the road in Colorado (2-2 at the time, 4-2 now) on the last play, including a few controversial replays, and the condoms lose at home to 1-3 Stanford with the benefit of a home-cooked Pac-10 crew. But, USC is USC, so they'll always get the benefit of a friendly media.

It would be better if Cal loses to a bad team and beats USC. That gives us a better shot. That's also why I wanted LSU to lose because that would put them right there. OU could have ended up number 2 if LSU loses one more game by chance. Right now I'm not sure if LSU will lose a game and even if they lose one game they will end up in the NC game.

10/7/2007, 02:00 PM
You could be us. Texas is still ranked, and we're in the Others Receiving Votes category after Wyoming, even though the two teams that beat us are in the top 20. Agree that Mizzou should be higher ranked than they are. Anyway, I still think you guys run the table and hopefully get your shot.

I hope USF and BC play, it would almost make it to where we gotta have a playoff. But with the biased views of the polls a one loss LSU or OU or USC will be in that NC game. Just shows how unfair those systems are.

Wow. I've never seen the individual poll votes before. It just shows how awful this system is. Blatant homerism on the part of some of these guys. I'm glad the AP isn't part of the BCS anymore, but it still emphasizes the need for a playoff.

The AP can suck it. They are the reason we don't have a playoff. I know, the President's don't want it but if the media started the drum beat...

I thought the media was supposed to report the news, not become the news. Them having an AP NC is akin to them selecting a second President of the US. It's effin stupid. If we ever get named AP NC during the BCS era, I hope we tell them thanks but no thanks.

BTW - This OU vs. UT game was the best I can remember in a loooong time. I love seeing those smug bastards walk out of the Cotton Bowl staring at the ground.
