USC is a very good team and has been so for several years. However, they are comparable to OU, Texas, LSU, Florida etc. The only reason I can't stand them is because they are given an elite status without justification. The prime example is the USC vs. "The Best Teams of History" before they even got to the championship game (which they lost).

They are a good team. However, I would ask the media pundits to please stop telling us that they are the best ever and the rest of college football should only hope to compete with them.

I think they should stop anointing a "greatest ever" team every year until a team actually does something and completes the seasons or seasons. I was very leery of it when they were talking about OU in that way before the end of the 2003 season.

What will suck though, and pucker up for it, USC might not drop down in the polls that much becuase of the woody all these sports writers have for them. After all the winning this team has done, one bad game and they get this...

USC fans booed the team at halftime and also into the third quarter as the Trojans allowed the Cardinal to stay in the game with interceptions and a fumble. The Trojans sprinted off the field after the loss.

Some other things to consider:
-Stanford was coming off a 41-3 loss to Arizona State and was ranked last in the Pacific 10 in rushing defense and passing efficiency defense.
-Starting QB for Stanford was his first ever start
- Stanford converted a 4th and 20 and then a 4th and 10 to take the lead in the final minute.
