I am not trying to be an *** and start another movie thread, this is a legitimate question. The 2 that really get my movie pants moving for this year:

The Passion of The Christ
M. Night Shyamalan's The Village

Isnt that Mel Gibson movie supposed to be in latin?

OklahomaTrombone

Yes it is...and Hebrew

I think it will have subtitles...but I'm not sure...

Eddie Money
2/13/2004, 11:58 AM
Latin and Arameic, I have heard it will have subtitles, and I have heard it will not, both on reputable websites, so I am not sure. I saw clip on entertainment tonight or something, and it had subtitles. But the trailer has no dialogue, so you can't tell from that.

I also forgot about the Coen Brothers' Ladykillers, with Tom Hanks - that looks great.

That is gonna be good

and I know I'm going to hell for saying this

but Hermione is gonna be one hot little lady when she gets older....I'd hit it...In like six years.

Of course, what we all realize, is that everyone else here (at least, all the guys here) is thinking the exact same thing...

Yeah, if I was Harry I'd have nailed Hermione about a half-dozen times by now. What's his big attraction to that Cho Chang chick anyhow?

I don't even know who you are talking about, but I bet if I saw her I would agree.

yeah, I think Kill Bill 2 is really the only one I care about...

even more so since you practically have to take out a loan to go see a flick in the theatres here.

(uch - re. Riddick)

So, anybody excited about Troy? The new Wolfgang Peterson movie. (Das Boot)

Or Spiderman 2?

crawfish
2/13/2004, 02:07 PM
Yes, Troy looks great. Doc Ock was my favorite Spidey villian growing up, so I'm looking forward to that one. My #1 is definitely "The Passion of the Christ".

The Passion of Christ. In whatever language, I think most folks will get it.

LosAngelesSooner
2/13/2004, 02:13 PM
Well, The Passion of the Christ has subtitles...so it'll be okay.

I think it'll be an amazing movie...whether or not I'll love it, is another thing.

I kinda have a warm spot in my heart for big, crappy blockbuster movies like Starship Troopers and Batman and crap like that.

Totally crap.

But LOTR was amazing and I loved it. And it was Craptastic too. While I think the Passion won't be craptastic, but will be amazing. Just not with the crapdidliscious stuff.

So Troy and Spidey have me hyped. Plus Harry Potter and Starsky and Hutch (which may end up being the greatest movie every made). But I'll definitely see the Passion.

Those all look good, especially Spartan. Also, I don't know if it will be out in 2004 or not, but Michael Mann's Collateral with Tom Cruise will rule, even if it has Tom Cruise in it.

That, Harry Potter, Troy, and Ladykillers top my list. I'll go and see Mel Gibson's movie, but not nearly as quickly as I will the others.

I was below .500 on what I wanted to see and what I actually saw:

Saw:
Starsky & Hutch (http://imdb.com/title/tt0335438/) - Not as good as I hoped.
Dodgeball: A Tru Underdog Story (http://imdb.com/title/tt0364725/) - Funny, could have been better.
Club Dread (http://imdb.com/title/tt0331953/) - Funny, could have been better.
Kill Bill 2 (http://imdb.com/title/tt0378194/) - Excellent.

Didn't sawed:
Dawn of the Dead (http://www.dawnofthedeadmovie.net) - Loved the previews.
Anchorman (http://imdb.com/title/tt0357413/) - No clue why I haven't seen this yet.
TROY (http://imdb.com/title/tt0332452/) - Heard it blew.
Spartan (http://imdb.com/title/tt0360009/) - Faded away for some reason.
Hellboy (http://imdb.com/title/tt0167190/) - Couldn't get myself pumped enough to see this one in theatres.

Do I get "non-gay" credit since I never actually watched this?

If they had someone besides Tobey Maguire playing Spidey, I may have gone to see it in the theater. As it was, I plan on viewing Spidey2 as I did Spidey1: on accident.

You did finally watch it.

I would give it a 3 out of 5. Maybe 3.5.

DVR'd it and saw it for the first time. I've seen worse.

Mike Rich hates it. That is a plus.
