I found out last night I need to purchase a tuxedo. Basic black. Anyone know the best place to buy one cheap? I assume the Men's Wearhouse has that kind of crap but I'm only going to be wearing it maybe 3 times a year so I don't want to spend much money.
Did I mention I'd like it to be cheap?
Thanks.

What does that have to do with tuxedos, threadjacker.
Yes, I did. Thanks.
K&G Mens Center has some pretty inexpensive suits and tuxedos.

rent, don't buy.
You're at the age where you're going to start getting fatter.
Tux's shouldn't be bought until you're attained your maximum weight gain for life.
Or, you can buy if you're a dedicated runner, weight-lifter, exercise freak who won't ever put on another pound.
I have no idea why I bothered to include that last sentence in this thread.

That's me. I'll probably gain some weight but it's gonna be all muscle, baby!

Believe it or not I did look at ebay but I just can't see myself buying a tux like that. A shirt maybe, but not a suit or tux.

You can get a Hart Schaffner Marx new (list about $800 for around $150-200). You can get a new Armani or Zegna ($2K retail) for $200-400 on eBay. Just be sure the seller has a 98.5% feedback rating or better. Mine is about 99.9%

It's not so much the quality or price on ebay - it's the fit. I'd rather go to a store, find a tux and have them measure and tailor it.

Syms (http://www.syms.com/) has a great suit/tux selection and a very wide variety of sizes. They have a store in Plano and in Hurst, they used to have one on Mockingbird but it recently closed. You might also try the Dillard's Outlet Store in Arlington.

With eBay, you get your $2000 suit for $300, take it to a tailor for fitting, and you're looking like a smart guy!
