Ed Harris vs. Matthew McConaughey
You would think MM is a serious actor, which he can be, but based on his roles so far; they are just not anything to smile about. I say his best drama was Contact when he made "contact" with Jodie Foster. His best comedy is Dazed and Confused. His worst, other than insulting Marshall, was Angels in the Outfield. I'd say MM is below average at best.
Ed Harris on the other hand is a superb actor who should have ole Oscar on his mantle. His 4 Oscar nominations are from The Truman Show, Pollock, Apollo 13 and The Hours. I think he should have been nominated for his bad guy role in The Rock. He has 1 Emmy nomination and 5 Golden Globe nominations (winning once). You would think the Academy would realize this guy can act and deserves more respect. He has played in many great movies.
