I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but we haven't won a Big XII title in an odd-numbered year during the Stoops era. We have won EVERY SINGLE CHAMPIONSHIP IN AN EVEN NUMBERED YEAR.

1999 - Not in Contention, Stoops first year
2000 - Big XII, National Champs
2001 - Beat by Nebbish in Lincoln and osu (ugh)
2002 - Big XII Champs
2003 - Beat by K-State and lsu
2004 - Big XII Champs
2005 - Bomar
2006 - Big XII Champs

Here's to beating the odd-years curse this year.

BOOMER SOONER! Win the Big 12 in 2007!

What's really odd about that is that the even years are when we have two of our consistently toughest road games (Stillwater and College Station) yet we've still won the title every single one of those years...even in the year that we lost BOTH of those games.

If we can win it this year, I believe we will be the only Big 12 team to repeat as champs.

Yep.

1996 - Texas
1997 - Nebraska
1998 - Texas A&M
1999 - Nebraska
2000 - Oklahoma
2001 - Colorado
2002 - Oklahoma
2003 - Kansas State
2004 - Oklahoma
2005 - Texas
2006 - Oklahoma

We're the only team so far to make it to 3 straight CCG's (2002-2004). Colorado (twice), Nebraska and A&M are the only other teams to make it to back-to-back championships.

If Colorado had made it in '03 and if we would've made it in '01, we both would've strung together two separate runs of 5-straight appearances.

I'm surprised by that Colorado stat.

I'm surprised by that Colorado stat.

Why? The North has been sucking since Nebraska imploded. Colorado and K-State were both decent, but neither was ever really as good as the teams the South sent. Their wins were miracles. When saxet played CU for their 'championship', it was a CU that backdoored itself into the CCG.

Why?

Because their 2-10 season last year was only one season removed from (almost) 5 straight north division titles. It didn't feel like we were playing a team that had experienced so much recent success even if it was in the weak north division.

I've been thinking about that pattern all season long. I believe we can and will break it this year.

Just think, if Uterus can break their 35 year no National Championship streak, surely we can break this "little" pattern.

BOOMER SOONER! AND THE WRONGHORNS CAN KIZZIT...NOT ON ZEES SIDE, NOT ON ZAT SIDE, BUT RIGHT IN ZE MIDDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope so. We probably should have won in '03, and we probably should have been in the game in '01. Mojo is a bitch. Somebody call a witch doctor.
