Does anyone know how to back up an Itunes library to an external hard drive?

I'm knowing this laptop won't last much longer before she's in the shop, and I'd like to know all those 99 cent downloads are still mine when lappy is under the knife.

if it's windows machine, you music is saved in my documents\my music\itunes

just copy that directory to the external drive.

Drag the itunes music folder onto whatever external HD you have. This works on mac for me. The folder is in the finder window under admin user name/ music folder/ itunes/ itunes music .

Looks like it was easier than I was making it out to be.

I tried googling some help, and that didn't get me much.

But I do know where ring tones are now. ;)
