i agree nate hybl was a pretty darn good college qb. he won two bowl games and was the rose bowl mvp, he had an impressive streak without an INT, and he did all this with virutally no O-line, those guys blocking for him had not developed

He's the last OU qb to win a bowl game (now that the 05 season is forfeited).

last one to win two in god knows how many years.

We're all just wondering when you are going to finally accept the fact that you have been and still are wrong about Nate.

Love of God, even a Texas fan can see it.

He was 20x better than Paul Thompson.
But PT was SUCH A GREAT TEAM PLAYER!:pop:

Nate was a solid qb who NEVER embarressed the University, who NEVER through his teammates under the bus, NEVER complained, NEVER got in trouble with the law, NEVER got the team on probation, NEVER heard about how he wasn't a hard worker, NEVER heard a single negative story about. Nate wasn't the greatest OU qb, he wasn't the worst. He was solid, he completed most passes that were expected of him. Seemed to be a solid leader that the team liked. Has one of the better winning % of all OU qb's and before you throw out defense...does anyone believe Jason White and Josh Heupel played with crappy defenses. All in All he was pretty good and I really like him as an ambassador of the University.

George Halas, Ernie Nevers, Jim Plunkett, Warren Moon, Nate Hybl -- all Rose Bowl MVPs

you know, i use to hate nate hybl. but despite the fact that he moved like someone with concrete shoes on, he was a pretty dependable QB. not a guy that could put the game on his shoulders and win it, but deffinatly a game manager. had some bad luck meaning when he made mistakes they just ended up being costly ones. but in the end, hybl > blowmar.

Why does this thread have legs? Why hate on Nate?

I know it began as a joke but we should all remember that he won a conference championship as well as a BCS bowl for OU. How many quarterbacks since Heupel have done that?

That's what I thought.

He stopped by a watch party up here a couple of years back and was very cordial. He asked me what we were doing after the game (fishing for going out in NYC to party), unfortunately it was a night game and I had to be up early the next AM.
He giggled when speaking of kicking sand in soonerus' face.
Nice guy, solid qb, with the exception of osu 01, he put up enough points for us to win in our other losses that he started.

You know, after he got the crap kicked out of him by KState's defense (and didn't Colt McSimms out), I don't know how anyone can dislike Nate Hybl.

I'm not trying to thread-jack here, but this picture cracked me up. Joe C is like "Where's Waldo?" in football pictures. (This also reminds me of an uncle, who does the same thing in family pictures, which is probably why I thought it was so funny.)

Probably one of the only times Q has blocked (at least partially) someone else out in a picture.
