View Full Version : I finally figured out what we got that 15 yarder for against Tu on the 1st drive

Sorry if it's already been posted but I haven't seen it before because those 2 ESPN-2 clowns were talking about everything but the game.
From the opening offensive snap, Duke Robinson was bringing his weight to bear on the guy lined up across from him in a Tulsa uniform.

"I smashed him and sat on top of him," Oklahoma's 352-pound left guard said. :D :D :D :D

The defender had a predictable reaction.

"He got mad," Robinson related. "He said he was going to come get me."

Two plays later, he did. In an unspecified manner, "he caught me," noted Robinson, who retaliated with a body slam. And as usual, a nearby official saw the counterpoint. Robinson was flagged for a 15-yard personal foul penalty, in effect negating an opening drive that had come to first-and-goal at the Tulsa 5.

On the next play, quarterback Sam Bradford's pass was intercepted. For the first time this season, the OU did not score on its first possession.

I've read the DO & TW this week keeping up with the Gumby tantrum and reading their OU columns, and haven't seen this anywhere, but perhaps I just missed it since most of their sports reporting is in the gossip column

I watched the game again last night and as the play ended, it looked to me that the Tulsa player was continuing to push one of our line men after the whistle was blown and another one of our offensive linemen ran over and pushed the Tulsa player off of our guy.

Since it didn't rate a replay, you cannot see it very well. It is in the upper left portion of the telecast.

Goes to show you how bad that broadcast was. The announcers/ND jockys, didn't even really show the call, or talk about what happend.
