It appears that early next season -- or perhaps this season if things continue like they have been  -- OU will be the first school to score 30,000 points.

Dude! That is like a totally awesome stat! It probably won't suprise most fans who wear the puky orange; They surely will attribute it to the mighty Crimson 'running up the score' on everyone!

or all the "weak competition" we've faced (which would have to include them)

OU would have to average 71.75 points to break it in the regular season. To break just in this season (assuming that includes the Big XII Championship game and the bowl game) we would have to average 57.4 points per game to break it. So, if it's done this season, we can crown our asses "BEST TEAM EVAR!!1!"

Or, if OU continues their pace of scoring 61.3 ppg, and assuming we score huge in the Big XII championship game, it will likely take us 24 points to get to 30,000 in the bowl game.

I would look for us to break the 30,000 point barrier against Texas...next week.

Wonder how we rank on the defensive side of the ball?

Fewest total points allowed and PPG?

It would also be interesting see where we rank in net scoring margin?

OK, I took the top 50 scoring D seasons and added it to the 50 worst scoring D seasons and this is what I came up with.

15261 points

So if that covers 100 seasons of football it should be pretty close. OU has been playing games for what, 112 years?

Running up the score on slack jawed S**T talkers is a tradition at OU. :D

Here are the teams with greatest point differential all-time:

7)UT Volunteers-(22.1-12.4) 9.7
6)Penn StateN.Lions(22.9-12.2) 10.7
5)Alabama C.Tide-(23.0-11.7) 11.3
4)USC Trojans-(23.9-12.4) 11.5
3)Notre Dame F.Irish-(25.1-11.9) 13.2
2)Mich. Wolverines-(24.5-10.6) 13.9
1) OU SOONERS-(26.3-12.2) 14.1
Amazing, isn't it? OU is in the Top 10 all time in NCAA scoring and scoring defense and NUMBER ONE in scoring margin.I was able to do top 7 only because these teams were in both the Offensive and Deffensive Top 10's.I'll have to do more research to find the other three teams.
