Anybody else see a similarity to how Manual Johnson's career is playing out to how Jejaun Rankins career played out? Rankins showed a ton of potential, but it just seemed like he never got to play that much (he was injured quite a bit though).

I've just been wondering why Johnson hasn't been playing more then he has.

Perhaps he doesn't he have the fire in his belly?

We don't run a lot of three reciever sets and the two guys in front of him catch everything thrown their direction so there are just not enough touches to go around.

His time will come. Stoops has stated that he expects MJ to have some big plays this year.

Bradford isn't looking his way sometimes. MJ was open for a TD against Tulsa, but Sam forced one to Kelly, and it got picked.

Johnson is the 4th best WR on the team and we have some good running backs. Sucks for him but after MK goes pro this year he'll get his touches next year.

I think he is going to transfer if he does not get the ball more....I saw his mother of children feeding him chicken outside of the game the other day!

I'M A MAN! I'M 40!!!

Because he only catches the ball 2/3 of the time.

considered a TE not slotted at the WR position except in the little bubble screen we run to him

Let me show you all the appropriate way to quote Gundy.

Perhaps he doesn't he have the fire in his belly?

THAT'S NOT TRUE! [hairGel]

That's why I don't read your posts. 'Cuz they're garbage.

JG is number 3. And Finley is probably really number 4. We have a lot of good receivers that's a good problem to have.

Those are both TE's ...not WR's..................so does that mean MJ is the #3 WR?

Semantics. Replace "4th best WR on the team" with "4th best receiver on the team". Confusion solved.

It's hard to spread the ball beyond the three or four guys that catch everything thrown near them. He's got lots of talent, just not much opportunity.

In 2003 and 2004 we only had about 5 guys getting most of the receptions. It's tough to throw to more than that many guys because you can only play so many plays and when you run half the time like we do it's tough to get more than maybe 5 guys a lot of receptions.

MJ should have had a TD pass against Utah State, but he short armed it.

Do you have the Colorado game on TiVo? :D
