His stats and weight issues say he will likely be trouble on the basketball team. I'll cheer for him when he gets here, but there seems to be nothing eye-popping about him, other than his perceived attitude.

He's definitely a project, but his weight issues (at least partially) stem from his injuries. After he tore a ligament in his thumb and tore his MCL, he gained the weight from not being able to do anything with his hands or legs. Since then, he's down to 275 and hopes to get down to 265 by the start of the season.

So long as he can come in and be a presence in the paint, rebound and block shots, I'm fine with him not being a great scorer.

Even at 265, if he gets into the paint, he'll be a presence.

so are we recruiting him, or has he signed with us?

He's committed.

I think we'll be fine with the big guys scoring, Griffen(s) and Wright. Always take on a big body project and hope for the best.

Like Rhino said, a guy who can take up space in the paint, grab some boards and hopefully develop a defensive game is a valuable role player on any BBall team.

Plus, he adds depth up front which we could also use.

^'11 275 is not bad .Wayman played at 25-260 and he was only 6'71/2.David Johnson was 6'8 250-260 as was Bryan Sallier. If he has game, that is all that matters.

I saw Bookout at the Hornet's preseason on Tuesday. He has lost at least 50 lbs. He mentioned something about trying out for minor league. I didn't ask for details but it could be the new CBA team in Lawton, OK. http://www.oklahomacavalry.com/
