Hi all, An employee and close friend of mine needs prayers. Today she was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. She is only 31 and has two young kids. This was unexpected and shocking. She went to the doctor because of a lingering cough that was starting to produce blood. A CT scan from last Thursday revealed masses in both lungs. A biopsy was done and she was given the news this afternoon. The outlook is grim. She will start aggressive chemo immediately but her doctor gives little hope. He told her husband weeks, not months or years. He is not coping well at all.

News like this sure puts things in perspective. Her and her husband planned to go to the Tulsa game with my wife and I but decided at the last minute to stay home. Right now, I don't care about beating Texas or anything else that seemed important yesterday. It's a helpless feeling to stand there and see someone going through this and not know what to say. Her name is Cynthia and PLEASE remember her and her family in your prayers. Thanks.

I hate cancer with the heat of a million suns. It is a ****ty, horrid disease.

May God be with Cynthia. She's lucky to have you as a friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

Help be her strength when she's at her weakest. She's going to need it.

They've made great strides in cancer therapies. I hope and pray that she's in excellent hands.

It's important that she stay clear of germs and such when her immune system is down. That can make things worse if she happens to get sick through all of this.

My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 50. It's not easy to watch someone you care for and love go through something like this. I'm sure I speak for the rest of the SO when I say we're here if you need us.

Wanted to give an update. After a month of chemo tests done on Monday show no sign of remission. Doctor wants to continue treatments but gives very little hope. Thanks for continued prayers.
