My son used my email address to try and get some free crap and now I'm getting spammed to death. I know clicking "take me off your list" buttons isn't a good way to deal with this. So how else can I get rid if this crap.

No......I don't want to know who has a crush on me......
No......I don't want you to see if I have bugs in my PC......
No......I don't want to meet singles in my area.....
No......I don't want to complete your survey for a gift certificate....

BTW....I currently use Outlook Express. I have Outlook also, and could use it, but I'd need to know how to import all my contacts.

I have used Thunderbird before and didn't love it, but I might be willing to try it again.

you just need to set up a dedicated spam account. too bad your main one is screwed.

In outlook, choose File, then import/export, there should be an option to import internet mail and addresses.

You may also be able to drag and drop from Express contacts into the Outlook contacts bar, but not sure - have not use OE in a while

Each time one of those e-mails comes in, click the button to "add to blocked senders list". That might help.

Each time one of those e-mails comes in, click the button to "add to blocked senders list". That might help.
I have heard that is a bad thing to do. As in, THEY won't email you anymore, but now that you have a verified account a lot of OTHER people will.

I'll just say that the gmail spam filter is ridiculously good.

I just checked and it's caught 705 pieces of junk in the last couple of weeks, I don't know that it's ever flagged a piece of mail that it shouldn't (no one has ever complained that I didn't answer their email, at least without me knowing about it), and only 1 or 2 pieces of junk actually get into my inbox in any given month.

I went ahead and downloaded Thunderbird. We'll see how it does. It's already sent two of those turds to Hades. :D
