I'll have to go with Fairbury Brand Hot Dogs, the official hotdog of Husker Athletics, and from my home county originally.

I don't know enough other brands to make an effective pole. Nebraska is dominated by the regional brands, so I'm not up on the others.

The texans here swear by Earl Campbell's weiners.

You can buy them in the grocery store now.

Nathan's. You can buy them packaged at (what used to be) Albertson's.

YUM!

Another vote for Nathan's.

Of the mass produced brands, Bar S, Ball Park, and Nathan's are the best. Dogs from local butcher shops are by far the best.

Yep, very good hot dog. However, Oscar Meyer now makes a beef hot dog without colors or artificial flavors supposedly.

I've always been a fan of Hebrew National.

I agree. Hebrew National. Also, FWIW, the fat-free Hebrews are undistinguishable from the fat ones.

Hebrew National, all others are just lips and a**holes.

Or something like that.......

How those skinny dudes put down 50+ Nathan's is beyond me. They're a lot more filling than your average dog.

Hebrew and Nathan's are similar and both very good.

Probably Hebrew National.

Hebrew National > Nathan's

All the rest aren't fit to eat.

the cheap-0 99 cent packages are the best, especially cold

Where is the Husker loyalty?

You'd think you'd select Armour Hod Dogs considering your band plays their turn.

Hebrew National over Nathans over Bar-S.

The rest? No thanks! (unless we're talking Fenway Franks, Dodger Dogs, etc)

A true Husker only eats Fairbury Brand Hotdogs. The only brand sold at Memorial Stadium, the Bob Devaney Sports Center, The Coliseum and Haymarket Park.

Stupid question here.

I'm sure some (or all) of you have had a Chicago style hotdog. I had one years ago in Chi-town, and have never had one locally quite up to the one I had in Chi-town.

Any of you know what kind of frank they use in that one (typically). Also, the bun? The buns I had on the entire package were these great big buns with poppy seeds on them.

Now that is some eatin' there folks!

They sell 'runzas' up there. I'd never heard of them until I went up there. Now THAT's some great stadium snackin' there people. YUM!

I got the recipe for them and make them once a year at MY tailgates. Dish it up with a good sud's to wash it down. WOW!

I personally feel bad for folks who never get to know a good runza. The swiss cheese/mushroom ones are the best though.

ok, first of all what is a "runza"?

And two,
favorite cheap hot dog - Bar S

They call it a runza because of the side effects from eating one.

Runza = bierock. If that helps.
