SETTING THE STAGE: Tonight is second of a two game set between the two teams this weekend...Oklahoma was down 2-0 early but rebounded with nine unanswered goals to beat Tech yesterday 9-2...Oklahoma is now 3-0-0 all-time against the Red Raiders.



OKLAHOMA NOTES: Seven different Sooners scored goals and eleven players earned points in last night's contest...Keith Denton (Vail, CO) and Sean McCauley (Naperville, IL) each had a pair of goals...McCauley and Doug Gebbie (Frisco, TX) had four points each last night...The Sooners were 4 for 9 on the power play against Tech, with most of those opportunities coming in the last two periods...McCauley, Jarrod Yost (Murphy, TX), Shawn Hayden (Allen, TX) and Austin Miller (Dallas, TX) all scored goals in their OU Hockey debut last night...Goaltender Chad Helgason (Woodbury, MN) stopped 13 of the 15 shots he faced last night...Goaltender Rob Mattison (Bartlesville, OK) is expected to get the start in net for OU tonight…With yesterday's win, the Sooners remain undefeated (5-0-0) in season openers…Tonight’s game, and all other OU Hockey home games, will be broadcast on The WIRE 1710 AM in the Norman area, Cox Channel 4 in Norman (SAP) and also live on the internet - Sooners Hockey fans can listen to the game online by going to www.ouhockey.com, www.icehockey.ou.edu or http://wire.ou.edu at game time.



TEXAS TECH NOTES: Forwards Kevin Mayoux and Jerrin Ashford gave Tech an early 2-0 lead with power play goals against OU in the first period...Tech was 2 for 11 on the power play...Goalie Michael Pruneau saw a lot of vulcanized rubber last night, facing 41 official shots from the Sooners and stopping 32 of them...Tech encountered some travel issues on the way to Oklahoma City to play the Sooners: the hydraulics on their charter coach went out which meant the team had no air conditioning and felt every bump on the rest of their journey north; the charter spent most of the day yesterday in the shop for repair.
